Creative Ways to Cover Rat Holes

1. Backfill the holes with soil and sand.

Ordinary garden dirt will do. Simply fill the burrow to close it and discourage rats from inhabiting it.

2. Place plant pots over the holes.

If you're looking at just a few holes, you want to hide them decoratively. Placing a beautiful planter over them works great.

3. Place pavers or stepping stones over them.

Any rat holes that appear along your driveway or pavements can be concealed with pavers or decorative stepping stones.

4. Use wire mesh or landscaping cloth.

Cut the mesh to the appropriate size and cover the hole to prevent the rodent from re-entering. This covers the hole and helps elminiate rats.

5. Try groundcover plants.

Areas of your yard with extensive burrowing can be difficult to conceal. I recommend planting fast-growing groundcovers to hide rat holes.
